Which services Bengaluru uses most, the clothes we clean most often, when people book, and how the festive season changes baskets. Drawn from LaundroKart orders in 2026.

We collect laundry from homes across more than 50 Bengaluru neighbourhoods every day. We looked at the orders placed with us between March and September 2026 to see what the city actually sends out, and when. All figures are shares and percentages. We don't publish order counts or anything about individual customers.

1. Dry cleaning is the biggest single service

ServiceShare of service orders
Dry cleaning27.5%
Steam press22.6%
Wash & iron20.5%
Home care (bedsheets, blankets, curtains)12.4%
Wash & fold7.7%
Shoe cleaning6.0%
Everything else (premium, carpets, roll polishing, pet care)3.4%

Plain washing is a small part of the picture. Most Bengaluru homes have a washing machine; what they hand over is the work that's hard or tedious at home: dry cleaning, ironing and the bulky items. Steam press and wash & iron together make up more than four in ten service orders. Ironing, more than washing, is the chore the city is happiest to hand over.

2. Shirts and T-shirts are 43% of everything we clean

Looking at individual pieces from June to September 2026:

  • Shirts: 22% of all pieces
  • T-shirts: 21%
  • Trousers and pants: about 9%
  • Kurtas and kameez: about 8.5%
  • Pillow covers: 3%
  • Women's tops, shorts, pyjamas and jeans: about 2% each

It's a working city's wardrobe. Office shirts and everyday T-shirts dominate, with trousers and kurtas next.

3. A typical order is 8 pieces

The median order has eight pieces, roughly a few days of office wear plus a couple of household items. The average is higher, at about 12, because a few large orders, such as a full set of curtains or a season's blankets, pull it up.

4. The weekend is laundry time

38% of pickups are booked on Saturday or Sunday. If bookings were spread evenly across the week, the weekend would account for 29%.

DayShare of pickup bookings
Saturday20.2%
Sunday17.9%
Friday14.1%
Monday13.6%
Thursday12.7%
Tuesday12.0%
Wednesday9.5%

Saturday is the busiest day and Wednesday the quietest. Among weekdays, Friday is the busiest.

5. Weekday mornings, weekend late mornings

On weekdays, bookings cluster between 9 am and noon, before or at the start of the working day. At weekends the peak shifts later, to between 11 am and 1 pm, once the household is up and the week's laundry has been gathered.

6. Everyday laundry comes back in about four days

For steam press, wash & fold and wash & iron, the typical order is back with the customer about four days after pickup. Dry cleaning, shoes and home items take longer, because drying and finishing can't be rushed.

7. Baskets get bigger in the festive season

Last year the average order value rose by about 10% from September to October, the season when festive wear, silk sarees and pre-Diwali home cleaning join the regular basket. If you have festive outfits or curtains to clean before Diwali, book in the second half of October rather than the last few days.

What this means if you're booking

  • Want more slot choice? Midweek, especially Wednesday, is our quietest day.
  • Planning for Diwali? Send festive wear and curtains two weeks ahead.
  • Mostly office shirts? A weekly steam press or wash & iron pickup is the simplest routine.

Where we collect from

How we worked this out

These figures come from LaundroKart orders placed between March and September 2026. Service shares count each service within an order. Garment shares cover pieces cleaned between June and September 2026. The seasonal comparison uses September and October 2025. Percentages are rounded. The data is aggregated and anonymous; no individual customer information is used or shared.
